The AMA (WA) works as a collective voice for General Practitioners (GPs) across Western Australia, advocating for their interests at both state and federal levels. We offer tailored support to help GPs navigate various professional and business matters, as well as provide guidance to GP Registrars throughout their training.
Our General Practice advocacy is informed by the work and guidance of the AMA (WA) General Practice Group, which is active on key matters of concern to GPs in Western Australia.

Through these meetings, the General Practice Group provides a platform for GPs to raise concerns, discuss policies, and shape the future of healthcare in Western Australia. GPs are welcome to contact the AMA (WA) to contribute to ongoing discussions or raise any issues they feel require attention.
The group convenes at the AMA (WA) head office in Nedlands. Rural GPs are encouraged to participate via video conferencing to ensure all voices are heard.
